This group was created for new parents, and parents of young children, who are trying to find at least a small amount of time to indulge their passion while devoting themselves to the demanding tasks of new parenthood. You’ll meet many other parents just like you who share a love for theater and/or writing and who long to connect with people in the same situation. We try to meet once a month – at Prospect Park when weather permits – or at the Tea Lounge or similar public space. Meetings may also take place in member homes from time to time. It’s a casual, non-judgmental group whose aim is to support, uplift and encourage. We’re also not picky about material. We welcome legit actors, musical theater artists, playwrights, fiction writers, poets, etc.
Come with a piece you'd like to read or bring in your own writing to share. I only ask that you bring enough copies for everyone else who’s attending that day, since we don’t have a budget for copies. If you don’t have anything to read or perform on a given day, I usually have several pieces with me.
If you have any further questions, please send an email and I'll be glad to attempt to provide an answer. We hope to see you soon!

What members are saying
“ It's great for my daughter to see me doing what makes me happy. She enjoys interacting with kids and adults of different ages. ”
“ This is a great group to go over scenes with other parents who share your interests. An unconventional way to stay connected with acting/writing while incorporating your kids. ”
